Pre-Purchase Survey

The most common form of survey inspection. It is non-destructive and non-dismantling and will report on all accessible areas. The survey will look for structural and serious defects, and report on the machinery, drive installation, presentation and cosmetic condition of the vessel, the safety equipment, the suitability for the intended use, and whether the vessel is as advertised.

The vessel will need to be out of the water. An initial verbal brief will be offered on completion of the survey if requested. The written report will assist the purchaser in making an informed decision. The report will normally be available in 7 days.

The quotation is usually a fixed fee depending on size and complexity of vessel and surveys usually completed to the price quoted. A Pre-Purchase Survey will not require an additional insurance survey.
